Everything people ask us.

Which image should I choose for a nice coloring page?

Images with flat color areas (illustrations, drawings, posters) give the best results. For a photo, favor a close-up with a sharp subject, a simple background, and raise the number of colors a little.

Does it use AI? How is the coloring page generated?

No: to create your plate, MysterInk does not use generative AI. Your coloring page is computed from your image by an image-processing algorithm that runs directly in your browser: it reduces the image to a limited color palette, carves out the zones, numbers them and redraws the outlines. Nothing is sent to a server for this step, and none of your images are used to train a model.

Is it really free?

Yes: the preview and the watermarked PNG are free, with no account. Your first complete plate (A4 PDF + solution, 300 DPI PNG, SVG, no watermark) is free when you create an account, and you can try the unlimited version for 7 days.

Do I need a credit card to try?

For the preview, the watermarked PNG and your free first plate: no card at all. For the 7-day Premium trial, a card is required at sign-up, but nothing is charged during the trial: cancel in one click before it ends and you pay nothing.

Are my images stored?

Your images stay in your browser: nothing is sent until you save a plate to your account. Saved plates are stored privately (servers in Europe) and permanently deleted if you delete your account.

Who is it for? Kids, gifts, activities?

For parents who want to keep the kids busy, teachers and activity leaders looking for a creative project, or to offer a personalized mystery coloring page made from a treasured photo. The detail level adjusts from very simple (young children) to very fine.

What format and paper should I print on?

The PDF is A4, with the plate and its solution on separate pages. Regular printer paper works fine; slightly thicker paper looks better with markers and colored pencils.

Are the example illustrations AI-generated?

Yes: the demo illustrations shown on the site were generated with AI, to avoid any copyright issues. Your own coloring pages, though, are created from the images you import.
